Join us on our blog as we enjoy our latest adventure as Winter Watchmen at an historic mining town in Idaho!

Have you ever just wanted to get in the car and go?  Take a road trip? Leave it all behind?

Well, that's what we did in 2010  We traveled around this great country of ours, meeting people and seeing places...checking things off the bucket list right and left.  It was an amazing experience.  At the end we were left with the inevitable "what now" question and decided NOT to go back to traditional day jobs.  Instead we are hunkering down for a snowy winter, being paid to keep an eye on a ghost town.  How hard can it be?

To pass the time I will be working on a book and Jake claims that he wants to build an igloo.  We will be snowed in for months on end so should have plenty of time to enjoy our projects without  too much interruption. Random snowmobilers here and there will be welcome diversions.

So last year we lived in a camper, meeting people and recording their personal recipes and memories about food.  This year we will be living in a shanty of sorts that seems spacious compared to the 9 square feet we lived in last year.  We'll have to come up with our own recipies...various combinations of canned meat, dehydrated veggies, and powdered eggs...and maybe write stories about our own food memories.

If you enjoy reading about a less than traditional lifestyle, then follow us on our journies.  Feel free to contact us...we'd enjoy the company!
